Frequently Asked Questions

What should i wear to ride?

We require long trousers, a top that covers your shoulders and boots with a small heel.

We hire hats for £1, and can loan wellies if you need.

Can i volunteer at the stables?

Anyone over the age of 13 can volunteer with us - you will need to complete a form (an adult must complete if under 18). If your child under 13 wants to help, they will need a responsible adult to stay on site with them.

How do i book to ride?

All our bookings are done via our website (aside from the drop in sessions for children on a Sunday which are non-bookable).

If you register an account via the website and add the riders you’d like to have lessons, you’ll be able to book. We do require an assessment lesson first before joining any group sessions so that the instructors can assess your ability. Once completed, the options open to your level will open up on your account.

How to register:

  • At the bottom of the homepage, click on register and 'Are you new Here' to register
  • Complete all the details for the account holder. If you are registering for a child, please make sure your details are the account holder.
  • Once registered you will receive an account verification email, please click on this.
  • Then you should be able to log into your account.
  • Go to 'Manage Riders' to add riders to your account, completing all the details.

How to book:

From your account homepage, go to make a booking, choose the date you’d like and the timeslots available will show, as well as any group lessons suitable. Click on the time/activity and you’ll be taken through the process to add riders if needed, how long the sessions should be etc. Then add to basket. You should receive a confirmation email.

Booking Terms and Conditions

By booking a lesson, I agree to the following:

·                I understand that riding at any standard has inherent risk and that all horses may react unpredictably on occasions.

·                I may fall off and could be injured. I accept that risk.

·                I understand that instructions are given for my safety and agree to follow instructions given to me by staff and instructors at the riding school.

·                I reserve the right not to ride a horse allocated to me and may request a change of instructor.

·                I understand that wearing an appropriate riding hat and body protector may reduce the severity of an injury should an accident happen and agree that I will always wear a riding hat that meets current British standards whilst riding, leading and grooming horses at the riding school. I understand it is my choice whether or not I wear a body protector. I understand that I must wear gloves when leading or riding horses at the centre.

·                I understand that the riding school will make decisions based on information I give them and agree to always be honest and volunteer information about:

o        my abilities and riding experience

o        any previous riding accidents

o        any medical condition(s) which may affect my ability to ride

·                I understand that children are at particular risk around horses and agree that I will keep any children that I am responsible for, under close supervision when they are not being instructed by the riding school.

·                I understand that the riding school may refuse my request to ride for safety and operational reasons.

·                WCRS reserves the right to change instructors where necessary. The Centre endeavours not to do this but on occasion, it cannot be avoided. I may request a change of instructor if I wish.

·                While we cannot guarantee specific requests for horses, we will always try, but it does depend on other bookings and the horses workload that day. Suitable horses/ponies are allocated according to your height, weight & ability.

·                WCRS reserves the right to measure your height & weight and check it is correct on your ECPro account.

·                DATA PROTECTION: I understand that information I provide will be held in accordance with data protection laws but may also be made available to insurers and other parties in the event of any injuries or accident.

Payments

·                Payment for lessons, hacks, and activities is made through your account.

·                Full payment will be taken at the time of booking

Changes & Cancellations

·                Our cancellation policy is strictly 48 hours.

·                If you cancel your lesson/activity within this period, you will not receive a refund or credit. The same thing applies if you wish to change the booking within 48 hours of your scheduled lesson/activity.

  • Likewise, lateness more than 5 minutes from the start of the lesson time, may result in you not being able to ride due to disruption to the rest of the lesson, and correct warm up for the horses.

Credit or Tokens on Account

·                Credit or tokens held on account are non-refundable.

Please note: by booking a lesson with us, you are confirming that you accept these terms & conditions.
